Between 13-17 November 2009, representatives of Share The World’s Resources attended a Civil Society Organisation’s Forum parallel to the World Food Summit in Rome.

Press release: Civil society organisations have called on governments attending the World Summit on Food Security (16-18 November) to support the use of food reserves as an essential step towards achieving universal food security.

In a letter released at the commencement of the World Summit on Food Security in Rome (Nov 16-18), civil society organisations urge governments to move forward in support of a system of publicly managed food reserves.

On 15 October 2009, Share the World’s Resources presented at an event hosted at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington DC on the potential and pitfalls of instituting a series of global food reserves.

Share The World's Resources operated a stall at a Quakers conference held at Friends House, London, on the 26th September 2009. The event focussed on the possibility of a zero growth economy as well as other progressive ideas on how to alleviate poverty and combat climate change.

On the 20th September, Brockwell Park hosted the annual Urban Green Fair - an independent green fair for London. Share The World's Resources operated a stall in the social justice area and enjoyed a day of discussion and promotion of alternative ideas for a sustainable future.
