Share The World's Resources at the Urban Green Fair
On the 20th September, Brockwell Park hosted the annual Urban Green Fair - an independent green fair for London. Share The World's Resources operated a stall in the social justice area and enjoyed a day of discussion and promotion of alternative ideas for a sustainable future.
Share The World's Resources operated a stall in the social justice section of the Urban Green Fair in London, on Sunday 20th September 2009. The one-day festival took place in Brockwell Park in Brixton, and was well attended by both campaigners and members of the general public interested in learning more about environmental and social justice issues.
Our stall, positioned near the speaker’s tent, received a constant stream of interest throughout the day. We handed out hundreds of leaflets and discussed our activities and perspective with activists and NGO representatives - many of whom signed up to support us in the future.
Additional attractions at the event included film screenings of ‘The Age of Stupid’ and ‘The End of the Line’, and talks by a range of speakers covering issues such as police tactics at demonstrations, corporate power, and climate change. The event also hosted an interactive children’s section that attracted a large number of children and families.
We would like to thank everyone who took the time to meet and speak with us on the day, and all our staff and volunteers for making the event a success.
